TRENZ 2010 Media Programme

TRENZ is an unmissable opportunity for international and domestic, trade and consumer media to:

  • find out about the latest developments and trends in New Zealand tourism products
  • meet leading domestic and international tourism industry representatives
  • see 270 of New Zealand’s leading tourism operators in one place at one time
  • experience the excitement of Auckland, New Zealand’s largest and most multi-cultural city

The Media Programme runs in parallel with the main TRENZ exhibition and includes:

  • informative briefings by industry leaders and tourism operators
  • time to gather information and carry out interviews on the TRENZ Exhibition floor
  • opportunities to participate in tourism activities around Auckland
  • exclusive access to a fully equipped on-site media centre.

Media Programme highlights in 2010

New for 2010!  Pre-scheduled appointments with NZ Exhibitors
Media delegates will be able to schedule 15 minute appointments with up to 30 NZ Exhibitors during TRENZ 2010. Pre-scheduling appointments means you will use your time at TRENZ 2010 more efficiently:

  • ensure you meet the Exhibitors you are most interested in
  • no waiting until an Exhibitor is free to talk to you

Registered media delegates will be emailed instructions on how to request appointments online in April 2010.

Celebrate Matariki

Matariki, the Maori new year, occurs in early June 2010, and will be a focus for TRENZ Media Programme briefings and activities.  Learn about the growing importance of this festival in contemporary New Zealand, its significance to Maori and the role of Maori in New Zealand’s tourism industry.

Rugby World Cup 2011

Rugby World Cup 2011 is more than the game – it’s showcasing our stadium of four million to the world. Hear updates on the tournament and the numerous activities planned around the country during New Zealand’s biggest ever sporting event.

Discover NZ’s newest tourism products

63 Exhibitors are offering brand new products at TRENZ 2010, including first time Exhibitors to TRENZ and Exhibitors who have innovative and exciting products to share.

Make new contacts at networking functions

Networking with NZ’s tourism industry is an important part of the TRENZ experience.  Networking functions in 2010 include:

  • Welcome reception – make new contacts and rekindle old ones for the days of business ahead. Monday 24 May
  • Regional Rendezvous – informal opportunity to network with delegates immediately after the last appointment of the day. Tuesday 25 May
  • TRENZ media dinner – your exclusive opportunity to meet senior industry representatives over fine food and wine. Wednesday 26 May
  • TRENZ farewell – a final opportunity to network and farewell contacts. Thursday 27 May

Discover the TRENZ 2010 host region and New Zealand’s biggest city first hand.  Enjoy some of the best tourism activities available to visitors to Auckland on the afternoon of Monday 24 May.

Media at TRENZ

About 30 international and 30 local journalists from news, features and trade media organisations will be invited to take part in the TRENZ 2010 Media Programme.

The Media Programme runs in parallel with the main TRENZ exhibition and includes:

  • informative briefings by industry leaders and tourism operators
  • time to gather information and carry out interviews on the TRENZ Exhibition floor
  • opportunities to participate in tourism activities around Auckland
  • exclusive access to a fully equipped on-site media centre.

Details of the 2010 Media Programme will be available prior to the event.

Applications for media to attend TRENZ 2010 will open in February 2010.
