TIA is excited to be partnering with Go with Tourism to deliver this year’s TRENZ for Schools programme.
TRENZ is New Zealand’s largest international tourism business event and most important event of the year on the tourism events calendar. TRENZ brings hundreds of international travel Buyers together to meet with New Zealand’s leading tourism operators (Sellers) over four days to build or renew relationships and negotiate business for upcoming seasons.
TRENZ for Schools
Date: Tuesday 9 May
Timing: 10am – 2pm
Venue: Te Pae Christchurch Convention Centre, Ōtautahi Christchurch
TRENZ for Schools provides a unique opportunity for tourism students to see the tourism industry in action and for the industry to highlight career options. By showcasing the variety of operators and businesses, students can see first-hand the potential for a wide range of job opportunities.
Year 12 and 13 secondary school students and tourism teachers from across the Canterbury region have been invited to take part. During the day, students will hear from and engage with industry speakers, learn about tourism as a career, and take part in a jobseeking in tourism session hosted by Go with Tourism.
In addition, groups will experience a hosted walk through the exhibitor space and venue and also get the chance to try out some VR tourism and hospitality experiences
In future, Go with Tourism hopes to extend the TRENZ for Schools invite to students, teachers, principals and career advisors from further afield.

Student Ambassador Programme
The TRENZ Student Ambassador Programme allows tourism and events students the opportunity to assist in the delivery of New Zealand’s largest tourism event and engage with some of the biggest players in the New Zealand tourism industry.

Go with Tourism is a unique initiative that specialises in growing New Zealand's Tourism & Hospitality workforce. It first launched in Auckland in April 2019 and has since been allocated funding from the International Visitor Conservation and Tourism Levy, which has enabled the programme to be expanded nationwide. The team work with jobseekers, businesses, educators and students to tackle workforce challenges, break down negative career perceptions and welcome new talent to the industry.
